Proper startup services should be performed on any newly installed drive. Many of the current technology drives are software driven. Numerous parameters are factory preset and in some instances are sufficient for operation. The vast majority of the installations of drives require some reconfiguration of the drive parameters based on the type or style of motor used, a particular application or other third party interfacing. Reconfiguring the drive parameters can be a straightforward process that may be outlined in the manufacturers instruction bulletins and can be performed by a skilled electrician or engineer. There is however, little substitute for experience with the numerous applications for drives. With
